Funeral Services for Michael ?Hammerdown? Cates, 60, of Lakeveiw, Arkansas will be 2PM Saturday March 16, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home in Bull Shoals, Arkansas with Sky Pilot and Uncle Sam officiating. Honorary Pallbearers are Blonde, Gyspy, Big D, Smiley, Manny, and Road Kill. Visitation will be from 12PM until time of service. Michael took his last ride March 12, 2013, at his home. Michael was born October 5, 1952, at Danville, AR to Joe Cates and Joyce Boviea Cates Moore. Michael ?Hammerdown? married Mary Crites July 23, 2011 at Chrome on the Creek in Missouri. He worked as a diesel mechanic in the trucking industry and owned his own shop in New Blaine, AR before retiring to Lakeview, Arkansas to ride his motorcycle and enjoy the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Hammerdown was a man of honor who believed that a good life was a happy life. He lived for his motorcycle club, The Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club and riding his Harley. Michael is survived by his wife Mary Cates-Daugherty of Lakeview, AR; daughter, Patty Heizer (Jeffery) of CO; grandson, Dustin of CO and granddaughter, Samantha Heizer of CO; father, Joe Cates (Jane) of AZ; brother, Danny Cates of AZ; sister, Becky Moody of OH: and many aunts, uncles, nieces, friends and family. Memorials may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Motorcycle Club. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
