Memorial services for Michael S. Grey of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 11:30AM Monday, November 8, 2010 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. A Gathering of Friends will follow the service unit 1:30PM at the Chapel.
Michael died Thursday, November 4, 2010 in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 68. He was born August 9, 1942 in Rochester, New York, the son of Richard and Florence Grapensteter. He married Darlene Delaney on October 19, 1966 in Carson City, Nevada and worked 23 years at Aetna and 16 years for Baxter Laboratories. Michael Grey was a U.S.Navy veteran of Vietnam. He was a Lieutenant and navigator of a C-130.
Michael lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas for 16 years moving from Rochester, New York. He enjoyed sailing, camping, the outdoors, exploring, was an avid reader, loved telling stories and loved his family and friends.
Michael is survived by his wife, Darlene Grey of Mountain Home, AR, mother, Florence Grapensteter, son, Stephen (Jeanine) Grey of Mendon, NY, daughter, Laura Grey, Denver, CO, sister, Karen (Carl) Evans of Naperville, IL, nieces and nephews, Brian (Michelle) Biggs of Boise, ID and Jenna (Jeff) Biggs-Crocket of Portland, OR and grandchildren, Alex, Sophia and Nate.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks, Mountain Home Christian Clinic or Humane Society of North Central Arkansas.
