A Funeral Service for Michael Allen Mudgett of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 6:00 pm, Friday, October 10, 2014, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Mr. Gilbert Pawl officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of service at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 2:00 pm.
Michael passed away October 6, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 58. He was born July 17, 1956, in Park Ridge, Illinois, the son of John and Joyce Hawley Mudgett. He married Sandra Neathery on June 5, 1981, at Batavia, Illinois. Michael worked as a self-employed carpenter and was a retired member of the Brotherhood of Carpenters Local #558 of Glen Ellyn, Illinois. He was very meticulous in his work and took great pride in his craftsmanship. Michael lived in Mountain Home since 1997, moving from Woodstock, Illinois. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and grandchildren, as well as fishing, water skiing and being on the lakes and rivers.
Michael is survived by his wife, Sandra Mudgett of Mountain Home, AR; three sons, Adam Mudgett, Garret Mudgett and Brandon Mudgett all of Mountain Home, AR; mother, Joyce Pumford of Gassville, AR; grandchildren, Chloe, Trent and Kylah Mudgett; two sisters, Joyce (Ernie) Chowanec of Bartlett, IL and Susan (Walter Gross) Elyea of Gassville, IL; brother, John (Patricia) Mudgett of Ft. Myers, FL; mother-in-law, Josephine Neathery of Bloomingdale, IL; two sisters-in-law, Karen (Gilbert) Pawl of West Chicago, IL and Donna Neatherly of Bloomingdale, IL; brother-in-law, Ken (Liz) Neathery of Rhindlander, WI and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Mudgett.
Honorary pallbearers will be Adam, Garret, Brandon and John Mudgett, Walter Gross, Ken Neathery, Ernie Chowanec and Gilbert Pawl.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
