A Celebration of Life for Michael James Nichols of Midway, Arkansas, will be 2:00 PM, December 21, 2014, at Twin Lakes Baptist Church with Dr. Sam Bailey officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozarks V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
Michael passed away December 8, 2014, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 64. He was born September 14, 1950, in Lapeer, Michigan, the son of Betty Wickenhiser Nichols. He married Marie Diggs on June 14, 1969, at Byron, Michigan. Michael was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He continued his service to others through his nursing career; most recently to the veterans at the VA Clinic. Michael lived in Midway since 2008, moving from Fairbanks, Alaska. He attended the Twin Lakes Baptist Church and was a life member of the Midnight Sons Lions Club. For many years he was the chairman of the district 49B Eye Conservation Program. He also held all of the club offices through the years. He was a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and trading Lions Club Pins.
Michael is survived by his wife, Marie Nichols of Midway, AR; two sons, Michael Lee Nichols of Midway, AR and Jeremy Scott Nichols of Mountain Home, AR; his mother, Betty Bradburn and her husband, Wes of Linden, MI; three sisters, Elaine Hillier of Fenton, MI, Linda Box of Brighton, MI and Judy Stewart of Belleview, MI and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials may be made to Lions International or the Wounded Worriers.
