Mildred Jean Fischer of Mountain Home, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord on March 6, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 93. She was born February 1, 1928, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Albert and Della Hollingshead Newland. She married Glenn Fischer in 1958. She worked many jobs, retiring as a rural mail carrrier in Iowa. Jeanie lived in Mountain Home since moving from Iowa in 1995. She was a member of the Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene.
Jeanie enjoyed music, gardening, and serving at church. She always sought to follow the Biblical command to “be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (Joshua 1:9)
Jeanie is survived by her children, Tim (Chris) Fischer, Ken (Annette) Fischer, and Marti (David) Mullen; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Walt (Robbie) Geery and Kathy Geery of Mountain Home, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, and three sisters.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm on Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene, followed by a Celebration of Life funeral service. Burial will be at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
