Muriel Louise Dusek passed away peacefully September 30, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 94. She was born December 30, 1922, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Charlotte Johnson Hewitt. She married Dr. Frank Dusek on February 28, 1953, in Downer's Grove.
Frank was a dentist and Muriel was a dental assistant and office manager for Frank. After working in downtown Chicago for a few years, they built a dental office adjacent to their home in Downer's Grove, Illinois, where they lived and worked together until their retirement and relocation to Mountain Home in 1984. During their working years, they traveled to many locations throughout the world, enjoyed fishing trips together, and both were skilled trap and skeet shooters and goose hunters.
In retirement, Muriel was very active in several local groups and she was an avid reader, crossword puzzle solver, and arts and crafts enthusiast. She especially enjoyed her Red Hat Sisters, Elks Lady's, Oldies and Welcome Wagon Friends. Throughout her life, Muriel maintained a very keen mind and she was especially proficient in mathematics, memory, and attention to detail. She liked watching old television shows and the game show network, and making her weekly trips to Walmart, where she made many friends. Muriel was a Christian who was ready to be with the Lord in her Heavenly Home.
Muriel was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and her husband.
She is survived by her cousin, Jack (Barbara) McAndrews of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, and a host of loving friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery Open-Air Chapel on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm, with entombment to follow at the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum.
