Memorial Services for Narm Erwin Shumate of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Keith Byrd officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Monday, October 24, 2011 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.

Narm died Friday, October 14, 2011 at Care Manor Nursing Center, at the age of 89. Narm was born May 19, 1922 in Stuttgart, Arkansas, the son of Thomas Jefferson and Ruth Prather Shumate. He worked as a Truck Driver for 3 Way Corp. Narm Shumate was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Narm lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1992 moving from San Jose, California. He was a member and past commander of the Alley-White Post #52 American Legion and also served on the color guard. He enjoyed working around the house.

Narm is survived by his stepson, Stalo Linares of Mountain Home, AR; a grandson, Tristan Linares of Mountain Home, AR; and one sister, Lillian Graves of Fairview, AR.

Narm was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers, and 6 sisters.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Clinic of Mountain Home.
