A Funeral Service for Neal Warner Puckett of Midway, Arkansas, will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 1, 2019, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Brother Marshall Lum of Midway Baptist Church will officiate. Visitation will take place Thursday, January 31, 2019, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Neal left to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the age of 84. Neal was born October 5, 1934, in Tarpon, Virginia, to Leonard and Maude Owens Puckett. After serving as a U.S. Marine during the Korean War, he found and married the love of his life, Elizabeth Ann Turner. They were wed February 12, 1956, in Tacoma Park, Maryland. Neal worked for Cargill for 34 years before retiring to Mountain Home Arkansas in 1999 where he became treasurer and Deacon Emeritus for the fellowship at Midway Baptist Church. He enjoyed bowling with his friends, woodworking, generally puttering around the house fixing things and pestering as many folks as he could.
Neal is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Puckett of Midway, AR; son, Steven Warner (Karen) Puckett of Strum, WI; daughter, Lisa Gayle (Tim) Smith of Corcoran, MN; son, Edward Jerome (Sharon) Puckett of Fort Worth, TX; brother, Dennis Puckett of Edgewood, NM; sister, Lois Yates of Kettering, OH; brother, Earl (Sandra) Puckett of Hampton, VA; sister, Daphne (Tom) Miller of Schenectady, NY; brother, Joseph Puckett of Haysi, VA; sister, Nina (Bob) Staub of Fort Wayne, IN; six beautiful grandchildren, three great-grandchildren as well as MANY precious nieces, nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Lee Punko; and two brothers, Avis and Darrell Puckett.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Steve Puckett, Jerome Puckett, Levi Smith, Daniel Boone, D.A. Dalke, and Bob Martin as pallbearers. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and the United States Marine Corps Honor Guards. Honors will also be provided by the Patriot Guard.
Memorials may be made to Midway Baptist Church.
