Memorial services for Neil W. Monroe of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2009 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with Pastor Larry Olson officiating.
Visitation will be from 1-4 P.M., Sunday, October 18th at the funeral home.
Neil died Thursday, October 15, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 75. He was born Wednesday, October 3, 1934 in Coudersport, PA, son of Lawrence J. and Eileen Tauscher Monroe. He married Charlotte Keezer on June 21, 1980 in Illinois and worked as a Electronics Engineer for Soo Line Railroad, formerly Milwaukee Road Roalroad. Neil Monroe was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea. Neil lived in Mountain Home since 1995 moving from Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church and Loyal Order of Moose. He was an easy going happy person, in a crowd, if you heard him laugh, you knew it was him. He would help anyone who needed it.
Neil Monroe is survived by his wife, Charlotte Monroe and 2 sons, Charles A. (Samantha) Monroe of Jackson, WI and Vincent J. (Renee) Monroe of Carpenterville, IL, 1 step-son, Donald (Mary) Jones of Kannapolis, NC, 3 step-daughters, Debra J. Jones of Palatine, IL, Noreen J. (Ken) Schuetz of Genoa, IL and Phylis (Ed) Brown of Reading, KS, 3 brothers, Ronald Gale (Dorla) Monroe of Coudersport, PA, Ernest (Verna) Monroe of Ulysses, PA and Robert (Ellen) Monroe of Federick, CO, 10 Grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
