Funeral Services for Nelda Clara Katharine Roth of St. Paul, Minnesota, formerly of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011, with visitation one hour before the service at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Reverend Kenneth Lampe, President of the MidSouth Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod District, will officiate at the service. On Friday, January 21, 2011 visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Kirby Family Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Nelda entered heaven with family present on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at United Hospital, St. Paul, Minnesota at the age of 100. She was born October 26, 1910 in Altona, Nebraska, the daughter of Martin and Emelie Vogel Mangels. Nelda married Reverend Erhard Roth on October 11, 1939 at Wabe Wawa, Ontario, Canada. She was a Pastor's wife and homemaker for 52 years. Nelda lived in Mountain Home from 1968 until 2006. She and Pastor Roth had served at several congregations in Ontario, Canada (1939-1945); Albany, MN (1945-1955); Gibbon, MN (1955-1961); and Janesville, MN (1961-1968). She moved to St. Paul, Minnesota in 2006. Nelda is a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, and had been active in the Redeemer Lutheran Quilters, the Altar Guild and the Ladies Guild. She is survived by six of her nine children: Meta A. Krueger of Clintonville, WI; Velma A. ?Viki? (Kent Gustafson) Kimsal of New Brighton MN; Luellyn M. ?Lyn? (Ron) Tausan of Windsor, CO; Edward A. (Ruth) Roth, of Lino Lakes, MN; Paul G. (Denise) Roth of Fayetteville, GA; and Kathleen Roth of Dallas, TX; 15 grandchildren: Jill (Craig) Sinclair; James Paul (Lora) Horan-Kimsal; Heidi (Randall) Stewart; Anne (Brian) Reinhardt; Jennifer (Scott) Boris; Heather (John) Kennedy; Jeanne (Barrett) Hodgdon; Gretchen (Scott) Davis; Paula (Patrick) Ramp; Tipton (Jessica) Hudson; John Krueger; Lucas (Alison) Hudson; Peter (Lora) Hudson; Peyton Roth; and Avery Roth; and 27 great-grandchildren. Nelda was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and a brother: Oneida Fiehler, Marvin Mangels, Meta Fischer, Esther Wunderlich; her husband, Pastor Erhard Roth; two sons, Arthur Paul and Mark John, a daughter, Elizabeth Faye, and one grandchild, Brett Krueger. Burial will be at the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
