Noah "Wayne" Ross

Noah "Wayne" Ross of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away October 19, 2021, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 86. He was born February 15, 1935, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, the son of Yancy and Lucy Coverdell Ross. Wayne was a U.S. Army veteran. He married Zelma in Wichita, Kansas, in 1959. Together, they raised three children, Bruce, Dale, and Debbie. In 1964, they moved to Mountain Home since moving from Oklahoma and was a manager for Harps Grocery Store for 30 years. After retiring from Harps, he worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers. He married Janelle Austin on June 19, 2010, in Mountain Home and was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed being outside, woodworking,and spending time with his family.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Janelle Ross of Mountain Home, AR; son, Bruce (Kim) Ross of Catoosa, OK; daughter, Debbie (Mark) Woodell of Mountain Home, AR; three brothers, Jesse (Ora Mae) Ross of Catoosa, OK, Frankie Ross of Locust Grove, OK, and Floyd (Janet) Ross of Locust Grove, OK; four sisters, Barbara Thomason of Ochelata, OK, Donita (Randy) Evans of Hobbs, NM, Emma Garner of Tahlequah, OK, and Mary Sue (Julio) Camberos of Fayetteville, NC; eight grandchildren, Candise Ross of Mountain Home, AR, Jeremy Ross of Mountain Home, AR, Kassidy Ross of Springfield, MO, Kallie Ross of Springfield, MO, Sean (Amberly) Ross of Broken Arrow, OK, Allie Joe Fencl of Davenport, IA, Kevin Woodell of Mountain Home, AR, and Jessica Woodell of Mountain Home, AR; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dale Ross; first wife, Zelma Ross; three brothers, Richard Ross, Jimmie Ross, and Basil Ross; sister, Thelma Davis; and grandson, Karl Woodell.

A Memorial Service for Wayne will be 10:00 am, Monday, October 25, 2021, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Travis Alexander officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Hogan Cemetery, Locust Grove, Oklahoma. Due to current restrictions, masks are required.
