Norbert Kraft died unexpectedly of natural causes July 22, 2008 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas. He was 87 years old. Norbert was born in Chicago, Illinois to Leon and Pearl Kraft. He was a graduate of Carl Shurz High School. Norbert was a World War II Veteran of the Air Force, serving as an aircraft mechanic in India, China, and Burma. After the war he took advantage of the GI Bill to earn a Bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame. He held a variety of positions during his working life, including sales for Bendix Brake, running an employment agency, maintenance at Notre Dame and Marion High School. Norbert split his time in recent years between Bull Shoals, Arkansas, Niles, Michigan and Vermont. He was a member of St. Marks Catholic Church in Niles, Michigan. He enjoyed all aspects of family gatherings and vacations ready to join in with children and family activities. His presence, wit and wisdom, and willingness to help will be sorely missed by all. Survivors: Norbert is survived by his sister, Lucille Grabski of Vermont; sister-in-law, Virginia Kraft of Michigan; four nieces; four nephews; several grand nieces and nephews and a number of cousins. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Leona, and his brothers Everett, Chester, and one in infancy, Johnny. Funeral: A Memorial Service for Norbert Kraft of Bull Shoals, Arkansas formerly of Niles, Michigan will be at a later date. Burial: Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Niles, Michigan. Memorials: Memorials may be made to St. Marks Catholic Church, Niles, Michigan or a charity of choice.
