Norman Sjoblom

January 16, 1935 — December 28, 2004

Norman Roland Sjoblom was born January 16, 1935 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was the son of Olaf Sigurd and Margaret Ostergren Sjoblom. He married Rita Johannsen on January 26, 1963 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Mr. Sjoblom obtained a B.A. in building technology from the University of Minnesota. He was employed twenty years as the inspector and plan reviewer of the building code division for the state of Minnesota. He was an Eagle Scout and active with the Boy Scouts for thirty-eight years. He moved from Lake Elmo, Minnesota to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1992. Mr. Sjoblom was a member of the Army Reserves, the Barbershop Chorus, and the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge Number 225. He was also a member of the Sahara Shrine Temple and the Twin Lakes Shrine Club, where he was active with the shrine clowns. He enjoyed woodcarving and woodturning. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church where he sang in the church choir. Norman Roland Sjoblom passed away at the Pinelane Healthcare Nursing Home in Mountain Home, Arkansas on December 28, 2004 at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 12 days. Survivors: Wife of forty-one years, Rita Sjoblom of Mountain Home; two daughters, Wendy Sjoblom of Duluth, Minnesota and Susan (David) Beuning of Bloomington, Minnesota; one brother, Thomas (Myriam) Sjoblom of Washington, D.C.; and two sisters, Marilyn (Clifford) Jaskulke and Elaine Larson both residing in Mission Viejo, California Preceded in Death by: His parents Funeral: A memorial service will be be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2004 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
