Norman R. Tucker

A Funeral Service for Norman Robert Tucker of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, January 11, 2015, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Mike Howell officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service.

Norman went to be with the Lord on January 7, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 81. He was born February 8, 1933, in Jersey County, Illinois, the son of Norman and Clara Johnston Tucker. He married Shelvy Ramsey on September 17, 1973, at Alton, Illinois and worked as a fireman for City of Alton, Illinois. Norman was a U.S. Air Force veteran of Korean War. He lived in Mountain Home since 1991, moving from Fieldon, Illinois. He was a member of the Illinois Association of Retired Firefighters and AF&A Masons of Illinois. He enjoyed the outdoors, shelling, fishing, hunting, camping and gardening.

Norman is survived by his wife, Shelvy Ramsey Tucker of Mountain Home, AR; son, Robert M. (JoAnn) Tucker of St. Charles, MO; stepson, Lonnie (Tina) Ramsey of Carlinville, IL; two step-daughters, Lona (Joe) Campbell of Brussels, IL and Sue (Kent) McCoy of Alton, IL; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Doris June (Bill) Gettings of Fieldon, IL and many friends and loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR,with Matt Brunnworth, Aaron Edwards, Fred Davis, Jim Young, Kent McCoy, Jacob Brefeld and Ed Raukman as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Sutton and Pay Hayes. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force Honor Guard.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks.
