Nykola Kotyk

Funeral Mass for Nykola K. Kotyk, 87, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 AM Thursday, August 25, 2011, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Reverend Christopher Okoke officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M.

Nykola died Sunday, August 21, 2011, at St. John's Medical Center. He was born December 9, 1923, in Dwernik Sanck, Poland, the son of Iwan and Anna Kalyta Kotyk. He was a P.O.W. during WWII performing slave labor. Once released, he moved to Venezuela, then to the United States in the early 1960's. He worked as a Auto Mechanic and moved to the Twin Lakes area in 1990 from Chicago, Illinois. He was an 11 year resident of Willow Brook. He was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and his favorite spot to fish was Pigeon Creek for catfish and bass.

Nykola is survived by his son, Nykola Kotyk, Jr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas and extended family in Mountain Home, Chicago and the Ukraine.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Burial will be in the Gassville Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church.
