Ocran Rickman

A Memorial Service for Ocran ?Rick? Rickman, 90 of Bull Shoals, Arkansas will be held at 4PM Saturday June 19, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Bull Shoals with Brother Jerry Backus officiating.

Ocran died at Hospice House surrounded by his family. Ocran was born November 21, 1919 at Newton, KS to Clarence and Jessie Greenbaum Rickman. He married Jeannette Piedimonte September 16, 1951 at Philadelphia, PA. Ocran was a retired United States Navy veteran of both World War II and Korean War. He worked as a buyer in the chemical industry. Ocran moved from Independence, Mo in 1984. He will be remembered for his positive outlook on life and his many friends. Ocran was an active volunteer at the Little Bit Used Shop, member of the Bull Shoals Historical Society, Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post #1341, and NA Fly Fishing Club. He enjoyed acts of kindness. His hobbies were tying flies, fishing and hunting, woodcarving, and collecting postage stamps.

Ocran is survived by daughter, Rhonda Calhoun (Robert) of Kansas City, MO; son, Rick Rickman (Karen) of Fullerton, CA; grandson, Bryan Little of Liberty, MO and two great-grandchildren, Trenton and Lauren Little. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and brother.

Ocran will be laid to rest at Kirby?s Tucker Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bull Shoals Fire Department Auxiliary or the First Baptist Church of Bull Shoals. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
