Odus passed away December 28, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 79. He was born February 2, 1934, in Noodle, Texas, the son of Issac and Bernice Hardcastle Hawkins. He married Bettie Beckham on February 16, 1973, at Levelland, Texas and worked as a college instructor. Odus lived in Mountain Home since 1974, moving from Levelland, Texas and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.
Odus is survived by his wife, Bettie Hawkins of Mountain Home, AR; stepson, Bob Layton of Austin, TX; grandchildren, Kenneth and Johnathon Layton of Omaha, NE; sister, Lora Shank of Lubbock, TX; five sisters, Lola (Larry) Merrick of Brownwood, TX, Joan (Carter) Coberly of Georgetown, TX, Fern Bulls of Lubbock, TX and Linda Hawkins of Sudan, TX, brother, Wayne Hawkins of VA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Josephine Sadler and brother, Rex Hawkins.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
