Services will be private for Oliver R Simmons of Mountain Home, Arkansas. Oliver passed away November 2, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 70. He was born March 6, 1942, in Caruthersville, Missouri, the son of Joseph and Lena Bradshaw Simmons. He married Mary Easter on December 14, 1993, at Cotter, Arkansas and worked as a carpenter most of his life. Oliver was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and lived in Mountain Home since 1992, moving from Fayetteville, Arkansas. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and working on old cars. Oliver is survived by his spouse, Mary Simmons of Mountain Home, AR; son, Oliver (Debbie) Simmons Jr. of Mountain Home, AR; daughter, Marlena Rushworth of Siloam Springs, AR; three step-sons, Paul and Michael Guist both of Mountain Home, AR and David (Mindi) Guist of Cotter, AR; brother, Donald (Jeannie) Simmons of Peadmont, MO; two sisters, Diana (Roger) Ellis and Roseann Price both of Bowling Green, KY; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Robert and John Simmons. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of North Central Arkansas. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
