Opal Nevada Moody

Opal Moser Jennings Moody, 93, of Mountain Home, AR, formerly of Calico Rock, AR, Eudora, KS and Springfield, MO, passed away Sunday morning, September 8, 2013 at the Gassville Nursing Center in Gassville, Arkansas.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM in the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, Mountain Home, Arkansas on Saturday, September 14, 2013 with Reverend Richard Crawford officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time at the funeral home. A Graveside Service will be in the Eudora City Cemetery, Eudora, Kansas at 1:00 PM Monday, September 16, 2013.

Opal was born March 5, 1920 in Wild Cherry, Arkansas, the daughter of Arthur F. Moser and Margret (Long) Moser. She married John R. Jennings on June 12, 1937 in Salem, Arkansas. The family moved to Eudora, Kansas in 1952. After retirement, they moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1980. She married Homer Lee Moody on January 10, 1992, in Hesperia, California and moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas in November of 2000.

Opal was a security guard at the Sunflower Ordinance Works in Sunflower, Kansas, an employee of Hallmark Cards in Lawrence, Kansas and Activities Director for the Eudora, Kansas Nursing Home. She was a devout Christian and a loving mother and homemaker. She was a member of the East Side Baptist Church, Mountain Home, Arkansas.

She is preceded in death by her husbands, John R. Jennings and Homer Lee Moody and three sons, Wayman, Danny and Johnny Maurice Jennings.

Surviving are her sister, Reba Moser Sanders of Calico Rock, AR, daughter-in-law, Kristine Jennings of Sun City, CA, five grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial may be made to the East Side Baptist Church, 718 E. 9th. Street, Mountain Home, AR 72653 or to the Bible League.
