Opal I. Sherman was born October 19, 1917 at Cambridge, Nebraska the daughter of Ernest Hoagland and Cora Viola Urling. She married Floyd A. Sherman on August 19, 1936 at Ogallala, Nebraska. She died February 25, 2009 at Baxter Regional Medical Center at the age of 91. Mrs. Sherman was secretary for various professionals and had been a resident of the Mountain Home area since moving from Omaha, Nebraska in 1982. She was a member of United Methodist Women's Club, very involved member of AARP, member of the Federation of the Blind and a volunteer at the Christian Clinic. Survivors: She is survived by Son, Dale Sherman of Gassville, Arkansas; Daughter, Janet (Jim) Lofdahl of Granada Hills, California; Grandchildren, Sarah (Justin) Thomas of Mountain Home, Jason (Tina) Sherman of Nowata, Oklahoma, Douglas (Shawna) Lofdahl of Oregon, Tracia (David) Ord of California, Taryn (Steve) Preciado of California, Tammy of Colorado, Wendy (David) Thorn of Arizona, Joy (Rene) Nelson of Nebraska; Several Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, daughter, Carole Ann Jelinek, and special friend, Arvin Welch. Visitation: Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until service Funeral: Memorial Service will be 2:00 P.M.
