Opal Lee White was born June 20, 1916 in Itasca, Texas. She was the daughter of Samuel T. and Annie Gaither Partin. She married Ivan White, who passed away in 1972. Along with her husband, she was the former owner of the Whites Family Grocery in Gainsville, Missouri; and the Fin and Feather Resort in Oakland, Arkansas. Mr. and Mrs. White moved to the Oakland area, Arkansas in 1966 from Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was a member of the Baptist faith. Opal White passed away at Gainesville Health Care on March 24, 2005, at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 4 days. Survivors: Five sons, Arthur (Carol) White, of Pontiac, Missouri, Alvin (Linda) White, of Lake Havaseau, Arizona, Don (Bobbie) White of Jamestown, California, Roger (Mickey) White of Flippin, Arkansas, and Ivan (Lori) White of Gainesville, Missouri; three daughters, Carolyn Ganas of Sarasota, Florida, Virginia (Richard) Morechini of Merced, California, and Paula (Rockne) Rhodes, of Gainesville, Missouri; forty-one grandchildren and many great-grandchildren Preceded in Death by: Parents, husband, two sons, two daughters, five grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters Visitation: Monday, March 28, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral: 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 29, 2005, at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
