Funeral Services for Patricia L. ?Patsy? Benedict of Mountain Home, AR, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, June 18, 2011 at Christian Church of Mountain Home, with Reverend Gene McCoy officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at the Funeral Home.
Patsy died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Mountain Home, Arkansas, at the age of 72. She was born August 10, 1938 in Gamaliel, Arkansas, the daughter of James Odus and Florence Elise Choate Summers. Patsy married David Benedict on June 4, 1961 at Mountain Home, Arkansas. Patsy received a Bachelors degree in Bible and Christian Education from Manhattan (Kansas) Bible College and worked as a retail clerk for several Christian bookstores. Patsy lived in Mountain Home since November 2007 moving from Garden Grove, California. She was a member of the Christian Church of Mountain Home, was an avid reader and collected teapots, teacups, figurines and pictures of ducks and geese.
Patricia is survived by 3 sons, Clayton (Kathy) Benedict of Perry, KS, Greg (Randi) Benedict of Irvine, CA and Stuart Benedict of San Diego, CA; grandson, Trevor Benedict of Perry, KS; 3 brothers, James (Jackie) Summers of Crest Hill, IL, Joe (Charlotte) Summers of Garland, TX and Danny Summers of Lakeview, AR and 4 sisters, Jean (Gus) Burden of Mountain Home, AR, Dixie Adams of Mountain Home, AR, Shirley Summers of Benton, AR and Cathryn Summers of Mountain Home, AR.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sisters, Johnna Rogers, Joanne Summers and brother Odus Summers.
Burial will be in the Bean Cemetery in Gamaliel with Tim Davis, Alan Burden, Tony Brainerd, Jimmy Jackson, Trevor Benedict and Ervey Gomez as pallbearers. Gus Burden, Dale Wilber and elders of the church, Forrest Cotter, Bruce Wolf, Gordon Addington and Rick Schmeski will be honorary pallbearers.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Church of Mountain Home Building Fund.
