Burial for Paul L. Ashburn of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be private. Paul passed away April 20, 2012, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 66. He was born May 22, 1945, in Springfield, Illinois, the son of Lloyd and Elizabeth Ralph Ashburn. He married Judith Marie Young on May 12, 1993, at Springfield, Illinois and worked as a Ward Secretary for Baxter Regional Medical Center. Paul was a U.S. Navy veteran stationed with a Marine Combat Unit as a Corpsman in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart with gold star for wounds received in action, Fleet Marine Combat Operations Insignia with Bronze Star, Nation Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal . Paul lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1993, moving from Springfield, Illinois. He enjoyed reading and playing the lottery. Paul is survived by his wife, Judie Ashburn; step-son, Jay Young of Springfield, IL; step-daughter. Rhonda Jones of Springfield, IL; 2 brothers, Joe Katona of Porter, IN and Kim Ashburn of Springfield, IL and sister, Anita Ferrante of Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
