Paul Eugene Johnson

Paul Eugene Johnson of Gassville, Arkansas, passed away October 26, 2023, in Yellville, Arkansas at the age of 93. He was born September 27, 1930, in Ottawa, Illinois, the son of Oscar R. and Bertha W. Whitmore Johnson. He married Reita Mowers on October 1, 1955, in Kankakee, Illinois and worked as an Industrial Arts teacher. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran and served as a clerk typist. He was a member of the Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene. Paul enjoyed woodworking and volunteer missionary work. His mission building a school and orphanage in Kenya was particularly special.

Paul is survived by his son, Michael (Debbie) Johnson of Gassville, AR; two daughters, Charlene (Loyd) Hampton of Yellville, AR, and Kimberly (Leon) Holcomb of WA; brother, Donald Johnson; 15 grandchildren, Jeremy Johnson, Dustin Johnson, Megan Roncoli, Sunny Maleki, Lori McCullough, Brent Butterfield, Justin Butterfield, Lori McCullough, Jean-Paul Holcomb, Geoffry Holcomb, Nicholas Holcomb, Elizabeth Hillier, Sarah Piccari, David Holcomb, Abigail Holcomb-Rodriguez, and Isaac Holcomb; and 38 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; and sisters, Elda Featherston and Norma Craig.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 2, 2023, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. A Funeral Service for Paul will be 10:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2023, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home, with Michael Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guards.
