Paula Ann Kirchens of Flippin, Arkansas, passed away surrounded by family on July 23, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 81. She was born March 6, 1942, in Fargo, North Dakota, the daughter of Anthony and Rita (Szarkowski) Naze. She married William Kirchens on October 12, 1963, in Rockford, IL and she worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years. Paula lived in Flippin since 1985. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was having her house full of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Paula is survived by daughters, Diane (Michael) Spain, Kimberly (George) Gussy, Lori (Gary) Lander, and Keri (Dannie) Neely; brother, Richard Naze; sisters, Mary Ellen Naze, Rosemary (Thomas) Muldowney, Cathy (Gary) Shull and Mary Antoinette (Scott) Kruger; grandchildren, Josh Spain, Jake (Nhai) Spain, Kyle (Kim) Payton, Joshua Payton, Timothy Payton, Heather (Michael) Hammel, Becca Kirchens, Kayla (Travis) Twyford, Sean (Maddy) Neely, Meaghan Neely, Shealynn Lander, and Jayda Lander; and great-grandchildren, Emberlynn Spain, Keaton Carpenter, Devon Payton, Khloe Payton, Kahle Kirchens, Jonah Payton, Joslyn Payton, Madison Hammel, Norah Kirchens, Hudson Hammel, Claire ILY Ormiston, Charlotte Hammel, Knox Payton, Turner Payton, William Paul Payton, Austin Hammel, Jade Spain, Grace Payton, and Bristol Payton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Kirchens; her parents; grandson, Devon Gussy; and granddaughter Jessica Payton.
A funeral Mass for Paula will be 10:30 am, August 14, 2023 at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Yellville, with Father Ben Riley officiating, assisted by Deacon George Gussy. Interment will be 11:00 am, August 15, 2023 at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery in Gassville. Pallbearers will be Michael Spain, Gary Lander, Dannie Neely, Kyle Payton, Timothy Payton, and Sean Neely. Honorary pallbearers will be Heather Hammel, Becca Kirchens, Kayla Twyford, Meaghan Neely, Shealynn Lander, and Jayda Lander.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Wounded Warriors.
