Funeral Services for Perry Evans Hand of Flippin, Arkansas, will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday March 7, 2010, at the Twin Lakes Baptist Church, with Dr. Sam Bailey and Brother Bill Pittman officiating. Visitation will be from 2-3 P.M. at the church.
Perry died Friday, March 5, 2010 in Mountain Home, AR, at the age of 92. He was born in Shuqualak, Mississippi, the son of Walter Perry and Irene Evans Hand. Perry was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He married Claudine Johnson on May 14, 1946 at Philadelphia, Mississippi and worked as an auto mechanic. He lived in Flippin, Arkansas since 1978 moving from Memphis, Tennessee.
Perry is survived by his 2 sons, Walter (Pat) Hand of DeSoto, MO. and Howard (Jean) Hand of Waxahatchi, TX; 1 daughter, Dale Bennett of Flippin, AR; 4 grandchildren, Tammy (Bob) Crider, Jody Bennett, Justin and Kevin Hand ; 5 great-grandchildren, Bailey and Landon Crider, Tyler and Tristen Bennett and Noah Hand and1 sister, Hazel Gray of Moss Point, MS;
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Burial will be in the Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Philadelphia Mississippi. Military honors will be provided by North Central Arkansas Veterans Council, Alley-White American Legion Post # 52.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House or the Twin Lakes Baptist Church Hope Center.
