A Funeral Mass for Philip Vinci of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 am, Friday, March 27, 2015, at St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold as Celebrant.
Philip passed away March 20, 2015, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 94. He was born November 16, 1920, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Vincenzo and Carmella Moranto Vinci. Philip graduated from DePaul University Academy in 1939 and worked as a cabinet maker. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and attended 16 USS Kalinin Bay reunions over the years. Philip was a lifetime member of Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post 1341 and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He moved to Mountain Home from Lake Zurich, Illinois and spent 13 wonderful years with Jean Kalemba.
Philip is survived by his son, Douglas Vinci; daughter, Donna Gunning of Deland, FL and grandchild, Tyler Vinci.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and three sisters.
Burial will be in the All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, Illinois, Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 10:00 am.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks, The Good Samaritan Society or St. Peter The Fisherman Catholic Church.
