Phillip Michael Hahn

Phillip Michael Hahn, 81, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Phillip was born on October 21, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, to George and Elsa Greiner Hahn. He graduated from Catholic grammar, high school, and college with a masters in Theology. He married Gail Kleine on October 14, 1972 in Chicago, Illinois. This marriage was blessed with two children, Nicholaus and Catherine. Phil served the Diocese of Chicago for six years. Then, with a degree in accounting, he worked for National Boulevard and then LaGrange State Banks. He left Paschen Contractors before moving to Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1981, where he worked at Mar-Bax Shirt Factory and then spent 36 years with ABC Printing Company in Mountain Home.

Mr. Hahn was active both in the Chicago area and in Mountain Home. He was Captain of Bellwood, Illinois, medical emergency team under the direction of the U.S. Civil Defense program. He carried this knowledge to Mountain Home where he served eight years as a Red Cross CPR Instructor. He also served locally as a BSA scoutmaster, a coach of the Mountain Home Soccer League and a coach (later umpire) of pee-wee baseball.

For St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, he served as children's religious education coordinator, Catholic Youth Moderator, Eucharistic Minister, and a member and past president of St. Peter's Pastoral Council. Phillip was also a past state deputy of the Arkansas State Knights of Columbus and served in three other state offices. He also served as the State Master of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus. Locally, he served as Grand Knight of the local Council 7353, and was Faithful Navigator of the 4th degree Knights of Columbus Assembly 2060. He served in many offices and committees of these two groups. The Hahn family was honored by the Arkansas State Knights of Columbus as State Family of the year 1988.

Phillip is survived by his wife, Gail Hahn of Mountain Home, AR; son, Nick (Ashley) Hahn of Conway, AR; daughter, Catherine (Jean) Mouton of Fayetteville, AR; and two granddaughters, Sophie and Leah.

Visitation will be held at Kirby & Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm; a Vigil Service will follow at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 10:00 am at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold and Father Nazarius Maduba as Celebrants. Burial will be in Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Jimmy Weaver, Bruce Hill, Dick Morin, Cal Filbeck, Phil DeMarco, and Brian Schwartz as pallbearers.

Memorial donations may be made in Phillip's name to St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church Youth Faith Formation or Hospice of the Ozarks.
