Phillip Wayne Hyde, 85, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Phillip was born on August 28, 1938, in White Oak, Missouri, to Marion Ansil and Stella Pearl Howard-Hyde, the youngest of 9 children. He went through the 12th grade at Popular Bluff High School in Popular Bluff and went on to earn a Bachelors’s degree from the School of Hard Knocks, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Phillip married Clara Walker on January 14, 1963 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was the jack-of-all-trades, taking most pride in working with his hands. He worked on the F4 Phantom and the C5 Galaxy aircrafts. He then switched gears and worked in the Florida Keys on boat repairs, managing groves, heavy equipment operator, and finally, owning his own wood shop, Phil’s Wood Shop in Lakeview, Arkansas. Phillip was know for being a person that never met a stranger. He was a member of The Bridge Baptist Church where he was saved.
Phillip is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Clara Hyde of the Mountain Home, AR; sons, Kevin Hyde and his wife Tammy Collins-Hyde of Lakeview, AR; Steven Hyde of Mountain Home, AR; and Phillip Ramsey and his wife Kathleen Ramsey of Longview, TX; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Howard, Ed, Bobby, Charles, Jim, and Jack Hyde; and sister, Fern Perry, and JannieSue Perry.
A Memorial Service for Phillip will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, January 13, 2024, at The Bridge Missionary Baptist Church of Mountain Home, Arkansas, with Pastor Hershel Conley officiating.
Memorial donations may be made in Phillip's name to Hospice of the Ozarks.
