Phillip Mammel died Saturday, March 21, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 80. He was born Saturday, June 9, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kansas, son of V.E. and Edwina Hursh Mammel. He married Emily Mammel on October 16, 1954 at Washington, D.C. and worked as a Store Developement Manager for Nash Finch Company. Phillip served in the U.S. Airforce in Washington D.C. during the Korean War. Phillip lived in Lakeview since 1996 moving from Appleton, Wisconsin. He was a Past Member: Kiwianis - Wichita, Kansas, Past president of Wichita Executives Ass'n, Rotary Club, Hutchinson, Kansas, Past President Kanza Council Boy Scout, Hutchinson, Kansas, Elder Presbyterian Church - Hutchinson, Kansas and Appleton, Wisconsin and a deacon of 1st Presbyterian Church, Mtn. Home. Survivors: Phillip Mammel is survived by Son, Stuart E. Mammel of Madison, WI, Daughter, Mary Stewart of Hutchinson, Kansas, Grandchildren: Anderson, Max and Kalen Stewart of Hutchinson, Kansas, 2 Brothers, Russell and Dean Mammel both of Dallas, Texas. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents and wife . Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Tuesday, March 24 at Kirby and Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral: Funeral Service for Phillip "Phil" Mammel of Lakeview, AR, will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church, with Dr. Fred Taylor officiating. Burial: Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Hutchinson, Kansas. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church or Hospice House in Mountain Home.
