A Funeral Ceremony for Phillip Andrew Whitfield, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Monday, September 10, 2012, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Andy passed away September 8, 2012, in Mountain Home, at the age of 71. He was born February 6, 1941, in Calico Rock, Arkansas, the son of A.B. and Opal Wayland Whitfield. He married Jo Lynne Hackler on June 30, 1963, at Mountain Home, AR and owned and operated Whitfield Petroleum and Village Real Estate. Phillip lived in the Mountain Home area all of his life. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge #225. He was also member of the Twin Lakes Corvette Club and enjoyed attending local car shows in his red Corvette. Andy is survived by his two daughters, Jo Ellen (Ed) White of Mountain Home, AR, Amy (Shannon) Flowers of Katy, TX; brother, Norris (Pat) Whitfield, of Mountain Home, AR; mother-in-law, Jorayne Hackler, of Mountain Home, AR; four grandchildren, Rebecca, Jonathan, Shannon Lynne, and Steven; and his niece, Beth (Randy) Tribble, of Mountain Home, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Burial will be in Baxter Memorial Gardens with Dale Harris, Mickey Pendergrass, Ray Neuman, John Reding, Richard Wallace, and Kevin Best as active pallbearers, and Calvin Czeschin as honorary pallbearer.
