Phyllis Anne Baker

A Funeral Service for Phyllis Anne Baker of Lakeview, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 11, 2017, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Patrick Norris officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 11, 2017, from 9:00 am until service time, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.

Phyllis passed away with her husband by her side on April 8, 2017, in Lakeview, Arkansas at the age of 71. She was born April 14, 1945, in Alton, Illinois, the daughter of Alford and Lena Meredith Houston. She married Ray Baker on June 15, 1963, at Alton, Illinois and was a registered dietitian for Pekin Memorial Hospital in Pekin, Illinois. Phyllis lived in Lakeview since moving from Pekin, Illinois, in 1992. She enjoyed knitting, embroidering, and spending time with her grandchildren. Together, Phyllis and Ray fostered 90 children in their home.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ray Baker of Lakeview, AR; three sons, Raymond Eugene (Kim) Baker, Jr. of Pekin, IL, Kevin Baker of Lakeview, AR, and Brian Baker of Lakeview, AR; daughter, Sherry Baker of Peoria, IL; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brother, Ronnie (Shirley) Houston of Greenville, IL; sister, Becky Emery of Wood River, IL; and brother, Kenny (Judy) Houston of Staunton, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald Houston.
