Phyllis Kay Story passed peacefully from this life on December 16, 2017. She and her husband, Morgan, were married July 27, 1962.
She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She and her husband raised three of their grandchildren for several years. Phyllis loved outside recreational activities: horseback riding, dune bugging, boating and enjoying times with family and friends around a campfire. She graduated from Cal State University, Long Beach, CA and became a middle school and high school teacher. After her teaching career, she was a small business owner, real estate agent, and an accomplished photographer with published articles. She and her husband moved to Mountain Home in 2002. She loved the area and its four seasons.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents Wilbur and Gladys Chapman and her daughter, Tammy.
She is survived by her husband, Morgan; son Jim, granddaughter, Kristie and four other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in the spring on her birthday, April 21, 2018, in the small town of Jonesburg, Missouri.
