Ralph L. Ventress

A Funeral Service with Military Honors for Ralph L. Ventress of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, will be 11:00 AM, Friday August 11, 2017 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bull Shoals with Heather Marsalis as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of service.

Ralph passed away August 6, 2017, in Bull Shoals Arkansas, at the age of 84. He was born June 2, 1933, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the son of Joseph Roy and Noelie Gertrude Sigur Ventress. He married Linda Kay Royce on September 4, 1982, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Ralph lived in Bull Shoals since 1993, shortly after he retired from 37 years at Teledyne Systems as a technical writer and department head in Los Angeles. Since moving to Bull Shoals, his love of fishing and the great outdoors suited him well. He was a supporting member of the Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post 1341, Bull Shoals, Arkansas, and served 10 years on the Bull Shoals Planning Commission. A true technological whiz, he enjoyed keeping up with the latest financial and political news, as well as computer tech.

He was always up for a family gathering and blackberry pies. Ralph was loved by everyone, was always happy to help a neighbor in need and willing to pay it forward.

Ralph is survived by his wife, Linda Ventress of Bull Shoals, AR; daughter, Cynthia (Peter) Lieberman of Los Angeles, CA; granddaughter, Elizabeth Lieberman; grandson, Jacob (Megan) Lieberman both of Los Angeles, CA; along with two of his four brothers, Floyd (Joan) Ventress of La Canada, CA and Milton Ventress of Hayden, Idaho, and many extended family, including stepchildren, Michael Royce, Shelby Sommers, and Ian Royce.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Joseph Leroy Ventress and James Alex Ventress.
Memorials may be made to Hoevel-Barnett VFW Post 1341 in Bull Shoals, Arkansas.
