Rashid Abdul Ghani

Kenneth Howard was born on August 22, 1954, to the parents of Effie Mae White and John Howard Sr. Kenneth attended Ferry Elementary school and graduated from Northeastern high school in Detroit, Michigan. In 1972, Kenneth married Beverly Mckinney and they bore two children, one daughter Christine Howard, and one son Kenneth Howard Jr. Kenneth had a long career with the City of Detroit Water Department and went into retirement after several years. Later, he would change his name from Kenneth Howard to Rashid Abdul-Ghani. Rashid enjoyed spending time with his family, He loved telling jokes. He had a passion for cooking and taking care of his animals. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Everyone who knew Rashid, knew his passion for a higher education, airplanes and automobiles. Rashid continued to pursue one of his many passions working as a mortician. He was very active with AA helping others who struggled with addiction to get their lives back on track. Helping others gave him great joy, especially helping young men to better themselves. Rashid had a very special place in his heart for his family, especially his children and grandchildren. On December 25, 2022, Rashid died unexpectedly in his home in Cabot, Arkansas.

Rashid is preceded in death by his father, John Howard Sr.; Effie Mae White; John Howard Jr.; and Donnie Howard.

He leaves behind one daughter, Christine Howard; one son, Kenneth Howard Jr.; grandchildren, Tiffany Barber, Shanice Hamilton, Ebony Howard, Tionna Aguilar, Jordan Howard, Javon Howard, and Kwazae Wilson-Howard; 11 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Elnora Coleman, Alisha Howard, Vera Evans, Cortez Gonzalez, Kennedy Holman, and Tanisha Holman; great-nieces and great-nephew, Gail, Angie, and Moan; and a host of family and friends. We will miss Rashid and carry him in our hearts.

A Graveside Services were held at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum Open-Air Chapel in Mountain Home, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services - Mountain Home, Arkansas. Visit an online obituary and guestbook at www.kirbyandfamily.com .
