Funeral services for Ray J. Eimers of Gassville, AR, will be 2:00 PM, Monday, August 3, 2009 at Redeemer Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Gadbaw officiating.
Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Sunday, August 2 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Ray Eimers died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the age of 85. He was born Thursday, July 3, 1924 in Halfa, Iowa, the son of Emil and Adella Meyer Eimers. He married Lavonne Shipler on November 10, 1946 at Burt, Iowa and was a truck driver. Ray Eimers was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII 1942-1946. Ray lived in Gassville since the mid 1980's moving from California. He enjoyed all sports especially, baseball and fishing.
Ray Eimers is survived by his wife, Lavonne Eimers, 3 sons, Jerry Eimers of Maryville, MO, Eugene Eimers of Mountain Home, AR and Rick Eimers, Sr. of Mountain Home, AR, 3 daughters, Sandy Pugh of Flippin, AR, Shelley Eimers of Salem, AR and Sheri Eimers of Norfork, AR, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 2 brothers, Gerald and Ervin Eimers of Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sons.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas with Jerry Eimers, Eugene Eimers, Rick Eimers, Sr., Merv Pugh, Marty Rogers and Brad Eimers as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Zack Pollard, Ricky Eimers, Jr., Mark Martin and Jay Altazan.
Military honors will be provided by the Arkansas National Guard.
Arrangements are by Kirby & Family Funeral & Cremation Services.
