A Memorial Service for Raymond M. Hood of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Friday, May 3, 2019, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Brother Keith Sharp officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52 and United States Air Force Honor Guards.
Raymond went home to be with his Lord, April 18, 2019, at the age of 86. He was born in Dyer, Arkansas, the son of Charles and Mary Lawhorne Hood. He married his wife, Rosemarie while serving in the US Air Force, stationed in Germany. Raymond retired from the US Air Force in 1970, after 20 years and then worked 22 years with Transamerica Insurance Company as a claims adjuster and manager. He took pleasure in helping people recover from their losses and enjoyed traveling the country exploring mountains, oceans and the woods. Seeing God's beautiful creations lifted his spirit. His hobbies were many, with his most favorite, woodworking. He loved God, his family and friends and Rosemarie's cooking.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Rosemarie Dohring Hood of Mountain Home, AR; brother, Robert Hood of Alma, AR; two sons, Jerry Hood of Lee's Summit, MO and Marcus Hood of Overland Park, KS; daughter, Kathie Bair of Independence, MO; grandsons, Derik Hood, Daniel Ryun, Brandon Hood and Remy Hood and great-granddaughters, Heidi, Evelyn, Lucille, Leia and Willow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve siblings.
