A Graveside Service with Military Honors for Reverend Maurice D. Walker of Franklin, Arkansas will be held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery with Reverend Bill Newman officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm, Friday, November 23, 2012 at the Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel. Maurice passed away November 21, 2012 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 92. He was born November 21, 1920 in Paragould, Arkansas, the son of James and Beulah Lynch Walker. He was a minister and U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Maurice lived in Franklin since September 2008 after moving from Mountain Home. He was a member of the Horseshoe Bend Assembly of God church. He enjoyed going to church, sharing the Gospel and spending time with his family. He loved talking with and meeting new people. All who knew him loved him. Maurice is survived by his wife, Marie Walker of Franklin, AR, four sons, Rev. Berlen (Henrietta) Walker of Horseshoe Bend, AR, Gary (Christine) Walker of Swedesburg, IA, Rickey Walker of Ft. Worth, TX and Rev. Daryle (Jewel) Walker of Greenbrier, AR; three daughters, Jeanie Thacker of Ft. Worth, TX, Sandra (John) Robinson of Ft. Worth, TX and Brenda (Benny) Wyatt of Mountain Home, AR, one brother, Harold (Janice) Walker of Paragould, AR, 2 step-children Judy (Lyle) Sanders and Lonnie (Trish) Bailey both of Franklin, AR; 26 grandchildren; 49 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by Martha Walker, his previous wife of 65 years, his parents, a daughter, a brother, three sisters and two grandsons. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks. Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
