Rex Kasinger

Rex Thomas Kasinger left for heaven on August 23, 2012. Rex was born on November 19, 1927, to Pete and Marie Kasinger. He served his country in the Army for 20 years, with tours in Korea, Japan, Germany, Vietnam and Okinawa. After Rex retired from the military, he worked as a Masonary Contractor until retirement age.
Rex married Fran Swadley on the 8th of January 1954. Rex was a wonderful friend, husband, dad, great sportsman and grandpa. He attended church services at Riverside Church of Christ, in Gassville, Arkansas.
Rex is survived by his wife, Fran of 58 years; 4 daughters, 1 son and one son-in-law. Terri and (Rick) Guinn of Flippin, AR, Kathy White of Gassville, AR, Robert Smith of Mountain Home, AR, Sarah and (Steve) Blair of Cotter, AR, Tommy and Debbie (Kasinger) of Flippin, AR, Tammy and (Donny Jo) Haynes of Cotter, AR., 2 sisters, Evelyn Martin of Mountain Home, AR and Betty Maynard of Yellville, AR, 21 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandson's and several nieces and nephews.
Rex was preceded in death by his mother and father, Pete and Marie Kasinger and his step-father, Horace Studdard, 2 grandsons, Josh and Jeff, 1 granddaughter, Melissa Gunter, 2 great-grandsons, Allan and J.R., one son-in-law, Craig McDonald and one daughter, Cynthia Smith.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 P.M., Sunday, August 26, 2012, at the Riverside Church of Christ with Brother Trent Alexander officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until service time at the church.
Burial will be in the Gassville Cemetery, Gassville, Arkansas, with James Kasinger, Eric Gunter, Rickey Guinn, Patrick Gates, Anthony Kasinger and Jacob Kasinger. Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Guinn, Robert Smith and Jusdon Haynes. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard and the 214th Brigade, Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
