Rhinehart Metzler

December 22, 1922 — April 26, 2007

On April 26th, 2007 our Lord called unto himself his son, Rhinehart Metzler. Mr. Metzler was born December 22, 1922 in Kansas City, Kansas where he lived until his retirement at age 65. Mr. Metzler attended Kansas School for the Blind, completing High School and post graduate studies, graduating in 1943. He worked 44 years for the Kansas City Blind Association. Mr. Metzler's hobbies were playing piano and accordian. He tuned pianos and spent 20 years playing piano on Sundays at the Olivet Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Survivors: Mr. Metzler is survived by his sisters, Olga Elisabeth Sauer of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Helena McCarty of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; a brother, David (Bertha Foos) Metzler, La Mirada, California; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his parents, David and Kathrina (Lohrengel) Metzler, a brother Walter (Clara Horpinjuk) Metzler and a sister, Ruth; Stepbrothers Fred and Henry Heinitz and also brothers-in-law Samuel Sipe, Harry Sauer and Michael McCarty. Funeral: Graveside services will be held Thursday, 3:00 P.M. at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Missouri. Memorials: Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
