Richard Ball

Richard Ball was born August 8, 1931 to Theradore R. Ball and Ima Jean Piatt Ball at Aroma Park, Illinois. He married Sharon Jean Cavitt on March 7, 1981 at Manteno, Illinois. He worked as a retired firefighter and employee of the Department of Veteran's Affairs of the State of Illinois. Richard was also a United States Aire Force Veteran of the Korean War. Richard and Sharon moved to Mountain Home in 1990 from Manteno, Illinois and became active as a member of the Alley-White American Legion Post #52, Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246, AmVets, Korean War Veterans, Forty & Eight Voiture #1079, and 32nd Degree Mason Scottish Rite of the Peotone, Illinois Masonic Lodge #636 for over 40 years. Richard Ball died July 11, 2008 at his home at the age of 76. Survivors: Richard Ball is survived by his wife, Sharon Jean Ball and Son, Richard (Michelle) A. (Everett) Mills of Kankakee, IL., Step daughter, Rhonda K Hicks of Springfield, MO., Step daughter, Pamala Hershey of Springfield, MO., Brother, Teddy W. Ball of Kankakee, IL, Half sister, Nancy J. Johnson of Kankakee, IL., Grandchild, Michael Geise, Grandchild, Ashlee (Ryan) Johnson, Grandchild, Brittany Geise, Grandchild, Aaron Mills, Grandchild, Trevor Ball, Step grandchild, Michael Howard, Step grandchild, Christopher Hershey, Step grandchild, Jason Hicks, Step grandchilld, Bryan Hershey, Great Granddaughter, Kaylee Johnson. Preceded in Death by: his parents, step-mother, Thelma Gay Wood, daughter- Angela Marie Geise, and sister - Arzella Grace O'Connor. Visitation: 2:00-6:00 PM on Monday, July 14, 2008 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home with a Masonic Service at 6:00 P.M. by the Mountain Home Masonic Lodge #225 F & AM. Funeral: Will be 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Kirby and Family Funeral Home. Burial: Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by the North Central Arkansas Veteran's Council with Honor Guard by the Alley-White American Legion Post #52.
