Richard Charles Peterson was born February 1, 1912 in Chicago, Illinois, to Andrew and Christie Bue Peterson and married Evelyn Kiefer at Chicago, Illinois. He worked in management for Illinois Bell and served with the U.S. Army during WWII. Richard had lived in the Mountain Home area since moving from Chicago, Illinois 24 years ago. He was a member of the American Legion and Ozark VFW. He loved collecting coins, reading, fishing, working as a handyman and spending time with his family. He passed away on April 5, 2004 in Mountain Home at the age of 92 years, 2 months, and 4 days. Survivors: his wife, Evelyn, 1 daughter, Joyce (Herb) Hupfer, 2 grandchildren Kathryn Hupfer and Michael Hupfer of Chicago, several nieces and nephews and 1 sister-in-law. Preceded in Death by: his parents and 2 brothers Norman and Lawrence. Visitation: Friday, April 9, 2004 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Ahlgrim Funeral Home.
