Rita Williamson

A Funeral Mass for Rita E. Williamson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2011, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Reverend Christopher Okeke as Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday, September 23, 2011 at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M.

Rita died Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Mountain Home, at the age of 91. She was born February 8, 1920 in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of George Ellis and Anna Foarde Koppenhaver. She was married to the late Lee E. Williamson on October 6, 1949, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church where she belonged to the Legion of Mary, the Cursillo Movement and she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a member of Baxter Regional Hospital Auxiliary. She worked for Reliance, a clothing manufacturer, as a time study supervisor during the World War II era, was a former partner of 8 Ball Amusement and former owner of Mid-Town Package Store. She was also a housewife, loving mother and grandmother and tremendous caregiver who always volunteered with a generous heart. A true lady whose greatest loves were God, her family and her country. Rita lived in Mountain Home, Arkansas since 1970 and was formerly of Schererville, Indiana.

Rita is survived by her 2 sons, John (Donna) Williamson and Rick (Vicky) Williamson both of Mountain Home, AR; 3 daughters, Joyce Trump of Kennesaw, GA, Janet (Jim) Musters of Plainfield, IN and Dianne (Jeff) Dean of Mountain Home, AR; 11 grandchildren, Jana, Terri, Tamma, Bob, Jeffrey, Elizabeth, Victoria, Derrick, Hollianne, Lauren and Samantha; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 9 brothers, 1 sister and 1 grandson, Mark Williamson.

Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery with Derrick Williamson, Bob Williamson, Derek Waugh, Eric Kerian, Chad Malichi, Jeffrey Williamson, and Kelly Shay as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
