A Celebration of Life for R.L. (Bob) Mead, 83, of Mountain Home will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 15 at Kirby-Boaz Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Max Pyron officiating. Mr. Mead died Sunday, November 12, 2006, at Hospice House. R.L. (Bob) Mead was born February 6, 1923, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Loren and Eva Wilson Mead. He married Barbara Robinson on July 11, 1945, at Cedar Rapids. He was a railroad dispatcher for CRANDIC for 36 years. He also served as a signal man second-class in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Mead lived in Mountain Home since moving from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in 1984. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. He was a member of Retired Railroaders and was of Protestant faith. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Mead of Mountain Home; one son, Kevin (Terry) Mead of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; one daughter, Gayle (Russ) Millard of Davenport, Iowa; two grandchildren, Rob and Sara Millard; Bob and Jackie Clark of Mountain Home and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. Interment will be in Cedar Memorial Gardens in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Camp Courageous of Iowa, P.O.
