Robert passed away November 7, 2016, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 89. He was born July 25, 1927, in Geneva, New York, the son of Jens Jacob Andersen. and Anna Marie Pauline Christiansen Andersen. He married Helen Smith on August 11, 1951, at Penn Yan, New York. Robert was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII achieving the rank of Master Chief Store Keeper. Upon his retirement from the Navy, Robert worked as a rating clerk for Penn Yan Express trucking company. He and Helen enjoyed RVing throughout the states until moving to Bull Shoals, AR in 2013. His hobbies were woodworking, John Wayne Westerns and dabbling in the stock market.
Robert is survived by his wife, Helen Andersen of Bull Shoals, AR; daughter, Bonnie Sumner of Bull Shoals, AR; son, David Andersen of Washington, DC; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Arrangements are by Kirby and Family Funeral and Cremation Services.
