Robert "Bob" Jay Louck, Sr. of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away June 20, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 74. He was born November 2, 1948, in Hinsdale, Illinois, the son of Glen and Juanita Peters Louck. Bob was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, Operation Lifeline in Pakistan, and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was a truck driver for Pepperidge Farm, Downers Grove, IL, until retiring after 30 plus years. Bob resided in Elmhurst, IL for many years. He stayed in Mountain Home as a frequent camper in his RV, during the summer, at Chaparral RV Resort and also in Fort Meyers Beach, FL, during the winter, at Indian Creek RV Park. Bob was a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association. He was best known for his patriotism, his love of flying, and his love of Lake Norfork. Bob was loved by so many and was a person who created lifelong friendships, while also introducing his friends to new friends.
Bob is survived by his wife, Linda McDonald of Springdale, AR; son, Robert Louck Jr, of Cumming, GA; daughter, Cheryl Louck of Cumming, GA; brother, John Louck; grandson, Coast Guard OS2 Jeremy (Madisyn) Andersen; and great-grandchildren, Landen, Rorie, and one on the way, Liam. He is also survived by a great number of loving friends referred to as “his lake family”, and “his campground family”. Bob had several special spots on the lake that he shared: Megan’s Spot, Turtle Cove (where he enjoyed watching his favorite grandson chase a water moccasin) and spent many an evening chasing the sunset. He loved and hated golf, and spent many days on the course with his grandson and his friends, Barney and Ed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Louck; and step-daughter, Megan McDonald.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be 11:00 am, Saturday, July 15, 2023, at the Elk’s Lodge, 101 Elk Way, Mountain Home, AR, 72653, with Pastor Greg Worley officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the United States Army and Alley-White American Legion Post #52 Honor Guards.
The family welcomes you to a meal following the service, entrées will be provided, feel free to bring a side dish.
