Robert Joseph Bushey

Robert Joseph Bushey of Oxford, Arkansas, passed away August 5, 2023, in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 79. He was born August 20, 1943, in Kinde, Michigan, the son of George and Regina Drake Bushey. Robert was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He married Jeanne on June 11, 1983, in Negaunee, Michigan and worked in baggage and ground service for Republic, Northwest, and Delta Airlines. He was a member of the St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church and St. Michael's Catholic Church in Cherokee Village.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jeanne Bushey of Oxford, AR; five children, Elysia (CJ) Grothe of Violet Hill, AR, Jim Bushey, Joanne Perttu, and Jeff Bushey, all of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and Peggy Vallenauvi of Smiths, AL; sister, Angela Brennan; two brothers, David and Dennis Bushey; eight grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. He was blessed with many friendships through the years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Al Brennan.

A Memorial Mass for Robert will be 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Father Norbert Rappold, as Celebrant.

We would like to thank the staff and aids at White River Healthcare in Calico Rock for their love and concern, and special friends of the family, including Donna Dixon, Eileen and Bob Howe, Carol Wegerer, Marv and Janet Kuntz, Christy Cate, and "RW" Robert Worthington. He will be especially missed by his grandsons, Grayson and Hudson.
