Robert Doolin died Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House. He was 82 years old. Robert was born October 26, 1926, at Ironton, Ohio, to Jeff and Delphia Doolin. He married Nora Hardy on November 7, 1976 at Franklin Furnace, Ohio. Robert was a retired tool and die operator. He was a Navy Veteran of World War II. Robert lived in Bull Shoals 19 years, moving from Ferndale, Michigan. He loved to fish and was a member of the Bull Shoals Retirement Fishing Club, Life member of the North American Fishing Club and a member of the NRA. He was a life member of the Hoevel-Barnett Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1341 and a charter commander of the Bull Shoals American Legion. He was also Mayor of Bull Shoals from 1996 through 1999. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Nora Doolin of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, one son Robert Doolin, Jr. of Wheelersburg, Ohio, six daughters; Robyn (Bob) Marsh of Wheelersburg, Ohio, Sharri (Andrew) Moose of Marion, Ohio, Melissa Platt of Jacksonville, Florida, Sonya (Chris) Dudas of North Branch, Michigan, Brenda (Clyde) Blackledge of Branden, Mississippi, Tina Gravely of Jacksonville, Florida, 18 grandchildren, 8 great - grandchildren, one brother, Jeff Doolin of Rochester Hills, Michigan, sister, Mary Henderlight of Berkley, Michigan and many nieces & nephews. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one son and six brothers. Visitation: A Visitation for Robert Lee Doolin of Bull Shoals will be between 1 to 3 P.M. at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bull Shoals. Funeral: Funeral services will be held at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, Ohio at a later date. Burial: Burial will be at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Ohio. Active Bearers: Phillips Blackledge, Gage Doolin, Donovan Dudas, Shane Doolin, Jeremy Foster, Mathew Doolin, Christopher Marsh and Brian Marsh will be pallbearers. Additional Notes: Military honors provided by Hoevel-Barnett V.F.W. Post #1341 Honor Guard.
