Robert Iven died Tuesday, April 21, 2009 in Mountain Home at the age of 92. He was born Saturday, January 13, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Henry and Anna Lang Iven. He married Eleanor M. Beilig on April 21, 1951 at Chicago, Illinois and worked 35 years as a machinist for Nabisco. Robert Iven was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Robert lived in Mountain Home since 1981 moving from Prospect Heights, Illinois. He loved woodworking, making furniture and wood items for neighbors and friends. Survivors: Robert Iven is survived by his sister, Trudy Tobin of Mountain Home, AR, caregivers, Cheryl Chastain, Marci Jensen and Tracy Dubuque, and his long-time friends, Pete and Karen Offerman and Hilde Ackermann. Preceded in Death by: He was preceded in death by his wife, and parents. Visitation: Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M., Thursday, April 23 with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. at Kirby & Family Funeral Home. Funeral: Funeral mass for Robert Joseph Iven of Mountain Home, AR, will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 24, 2009 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, with Reverend Charles Kanu, officiating. Burial: Entombment will be in the Baxter Memorial Gardens, Mountain Home, AR. Memorials: Memorials may be made to the to the Masses.
