A Celebration of Life for Robert L. Kauffman of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 3:00 pm, Friday, March 31, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, with Reverend Tom Frase and Reverend Randy Ludwig officiating. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 4:30 until 6:00 pm, at Kirby& Family Funeral Home.
Bob passed away March 25, 2017, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 63. He was born May 12, 1953, in Sarasota, Florida. He married Lori Gamso on April 21, 1973, in Sarasota, FL. Bob and Lori lived in Mountain Home since 1993, moving from Sarasota, FL.
In their near 44 years of marriage, Bob and Lori loved and supported each other through many of life’s greatest triumphs and tribulations. Most recently holding each other’s hands through a double lung transplant and cancer, taking their marital vows of “in sickness and in health” to a whole new level.
Bob was a general contractor for 24 years and built over 300 homes in the Twin Lakes area. He loved the Florida State Seminoles, fishing and hunting, and in latter years dreamt of said outdoor activities. Bob and Lori were avid travelers and garnered a desire to travel within their family. He loved his family and close friends unconditionally as they did him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dinks and Bob Kauffman and loyal dog, Sable.
Bob is survived by his wife, Lori Kauffman of Mountain Home, AR and two sons, Jared (Julie) Kauffman and granddaughter, Olive of Mountain Home, AR and Travis Kauffman of Fort Collins, CO. Bob is also survived by his older brother, Steve Kauffman of Tallahassee, FL; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janice and John Anderson of Indian Shores, FL; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joel and Tammy Gamso of Bradenton, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews, Amy, Stephanie, David, Tommy, Cameron, Madison, and Connor.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Cerebral Palsy in honor of his granddaughter, Olive or to the First United Methodist Church of Mountain Home.
